update a field using the values of another

Hi all,

I have created a 'Miles' field and I want it to update as and when the ShapeLength field is changed. I cant work out a simple way to do this. I have polyline data in a database/SDE and I want to be able to edit existing and create new lines with the miles field updating as the ShapeLength field does. Can anyone help please?

Hi @davidchamberlain2,

You can do this using Attribute Rules.  Execute the Add Attribute Rule tool for your feature class.  Ex:
