Trouble with ESRI ArcGIS Add-In Installation Utility

Hi there,

I'm trying to install an add-in (Benthic Terrain Modeler 3.0). I download and extract the files to my location of choice, but:

When I double-click on the .esriaddin file, it doesn't prompt the ESRI ArcGIS Add-In Installation Utility window, but instead I get the default (with which app do you want to open this file with?).

I can't seem to find anyone else encountering this problem so I'm hoping someone here might be able to offer some advice.

I am using ArcGIS Pro 3.0.2.

the filepath suggest it's an ArcMap addin.  Think it would be .esriaddinX if it were Pro.  that would explain why you can't launch it.

edit - if you look at the link Dan provided - the comments section at the bottom may explain the issue.

I'm getting this exact same issue with the TEUI Toolkit. I'm wondering if my computer isn't recognizing the esriaddin file, and that's the issue? Haven't solved it yet
