Street Map Layers

Can we not add Street Map data to use as a basemap?  I add the layer file and nothing appears and I'm not able to add the individual sdc layers at all.  Using the ESRI basemaps on our network connection is horribly slow so we have always used local basemaps so I'm hoping I just missed something.

If my memory serves me, SDC files are not supported in Pro, that may be your problem.

If SDC files are not supported in Pro and never will be, what is the best practice for making this data available in Pro as it was optimized to perform quickly in ArcMap?  Does ESRI have a technical article that deals with this issue?

Have the SDC files that were provided by ESRI been replaced by services that can be accessed through AGOL that are periodically updated to reflect changes in these data sets?

*.MMPK import map....IF you are licensed to download Street map. Vector Navigation or Vector Streets are nice basemap alternates. IMHO
