I have a simple point feature layer and would like to run the "Find Hot Spots" tool. However, no matter what I do, I am always getting the same (incredibly *not* helpful) ERROR 000582: Error occurred during execution. I have re-saved the feature layer, tried with and without Analysis Field within the settings. No luck. Does anyone have an idea why this may happen? Many thanks.

That's my point feature layer (approx 63K entries in total).

The error massage.

000582: Error occurred during execution.—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Find Hot Spots (Standard Feature Analysis)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

The tool inputs might help since it is going to your portal and the error is related to your parameters.  There are similar tools for working with locally stored and saved data.

One question I have is are you using an ArcGIS Enterprise deployment at your organization?  If not, according to the help documentation - "These tools are available when you have an active ArcGIS Enterprise portal that has a hosting server configured for the Feature Analysis - Standard Tools setting. To access and run the tools, you must have spatial analysis privileges. The tools will not work if your active portal is ArcGIS Online."  It may explain the error message.

I'd recommend using the Optimized Hot Spot Analysis (Spatial Statistics)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation tool to see if it runs successfully and generates the output that you're looking for.
