Shadow tool

Hello all,

I’m relatively new to ArcGIS pro, and have been struggling with a particular analysis.  In short,  I need a way to save building shadows generated from the illumination settings in a scene layer (using absolute sun position at a specific az/el) as a saved layer that I can export as either a shape file or convert it to a kmz.  I’ve tried using the view shed tool to set an observer high in the sky at a similar angle as the sun, and I’ve tried the sun volume tool, but that can only be used for time of day and not a specific az/el.  neither of these options produced a particularly favorable result.

is there any way to save off shadows produced from 3d buildings and illumination as a layer? Or possibly classify shadows using a pixel color detection and save that as a layer? Or, lastly, does anyone know of a custom tool that will allow this type of analysis.

Thanks in advance.

Dd you check

Hillshade (Spatial Analyst)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

it mentions saving shadows explicitly

... sort of retired...
