Dear Community,

I have a question regarding two tools in ArcGIS Pro. I am using ArcGIS Pro version 3.3.0. I have a question about the two tools “Analyze Changes Using LandTrendr” (https://pro.arcgis.com/de/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/image-analyst/analyze-changes-using-landtren...) and “Analyze Changes Using CCDC” (https://pro.arcgis.com/de/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/image-analyst/analyze-changes-using-ccdc.htm). My question relates to the output grids of these tools and the bands that can be viewed in a time series analysis of the temporal profile diagram. In LandTrendr, these are the bands “Slope,” “Fitted Values,” “Intercept,” “RMSE,” and “Change Magnitude.” I understand Fitted Value, Change Magnitude, and RMSE. After all, these are also described in the original paper by Kennedy et al. (2018). I don't quite understand what Slope and Intercept describe. I couldn't find anything about this in the ArcGIS help either. I am particularly interested in the unit used for Slope.

With CCDC, it is even a little more unclear. There, the following bands are available in the time profile diagram: “Slope,” “Intercept,” “Harmonic Sin1,” “Harmonic Cos1,” “Harmonic Sin2,” “Harmonic Cos2,” “Harmonic Sin3,” “Harmonic Cos3,” and “RMSE.” I don't understand any of the values except for RMSE. In the case of Slope, I would also be interested in the unit here.

As a small additional question, I have a question about the connection tool, the “Detect Changes Using Change Analysis Raster” tool: While LandTrendr allows you to filter by the Magnitude attribute, among other things, CCDC rasters only allow you to filter by year. Is it technically impossible to filter by magnitude in CCDC?

I hope my questions can be answered and look forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

Peter
