Hello, amatuer GIS user here. I am trying to create 500 m buffers around polylines with flat end caps. I see in the buffer analysis tool that this is possible, but when I run the tool, the subsequent buffer shapes are irregular with arcs on one or both sides of the line (see attached image). I'm assuming this has to do with the irregular shape of my lines, but for my purposes, it makes little sense to have these appendages. What causes this and how can I prevent it?
