Hello all,

I'm curious if anyone else has ran into this niche error?

Upon export to PDF of a map series the map becomes distorted; in particular the point layer. As soon as export returns to single layout the distortion is not present.

I did some troubleshooting with the setting in export to no avail; map series settings, properties accessibility and security. I also double checked and ensured all layers have the same coordinate system.  The only thing that seemed to remove the distortion was returning to a single layout vs. map series.

not a big deal, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Sincerely,
Christopher

That's really interesting. Can you provide images of the distorted and non-distorted exports? They may give a clue as to what's happening.

in fact upon further investigation, I think I figured out the problem. Much appreciated.

In this case it looks like the map series is driving the extent, but when you turn it off you have a custom extent. Sounds like you figured that out! Happy mapping!

also, correcting myself- it's not the point layer that is being distorted. please see attached pictures.

yes, the first page in the series is depicted in the distorted map picture. I'm unfamiliar with these map series so will remember this for the future. appreciate you.
