Hello everyone, I'm having trouble using the 'Overlay Layers' tool in ArcGIS pro 3.0.0, more specifically, when I take the building.shp as the input layer, and the fishnet.shp as the overlay layer, and overlay type is intersect —— the operation log showed "Parameter inputLayer is not valid".

But I have tried input the same datasets as before (which have been successful previously), and perform the same operation, it failed for the same warning. The ONLY difference is that I updated my ArcGIS pro from 2.8.0 to 3.0.0, but is that the reason?

Some explanatory pictures are attached here:

the error warings:

the input layer (building.shp and fishnet.shp):

the result I want (the correct result obtained previously):

Thank you a lot!

Hello @Vita_Vonanli,

Cannot reproduce the error you mention, either using shapefiles or feature classes (in 3.0.2). First, you should try importing shapefiles into a File GDB and see if that fixes the error. Also, when executing same tools over and over again it's recommended to exit from the tool and enter again to clear parameter values.

Finally, if you are able to do it, update at least to 3.0.2 which is a simple patch (no need of installing the whole ArcGIS PRO)

Regards,

Edit: try aswell executing the tool on Python Console using arcpy (sometimes tools behave differently than when using the GUI)
