In ArcMap it's fairly easy to move around a map while in a an edit session with a given tool active; just click on the pan tool, make your move, click back on the edit tool you were using and pick up were you left off.  All I've found so far  in Pro is to use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out; that leaves the selected edit tool.  But if I'm at the desired scale and need to pan, how do I do that?  Am I missing something obvious?

That should just about do it....

Joe,

My mouse has a scroll wheel and when I have the Select tool selected, I press and hold my scroll wheel to pan around the map.

It worked for me earlier to press the scroll bar. This session in v3.2.0 it does not work any more and the map view does not have any scrollbars any more. So as written before the keyboard shortcuts do the trick now http://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/help/editing/keyboard-shortcuts-for-editing.htm
