Is there a way to make non-spatial edits to a Microsoft Access table in ArcGIS Pro? (.mdb or .accdb)

For example, an Access table has XY columns. I'm displaying the table as an XY event layer in ArcGIS Pro. As I review the XY points in the map, I want to edit a flag column with Y/N values.

Is there a way to do that?

I'm not the owner of the Access database so I don't have the option of migrating it to a different format.

I'm aware that I could use a copy of the table as a workaround:

  • Copy the table to a ArcGIS editing-friendly format.
  • Display and edit the copy in ArcGIS Pro.
  • When done editing:
In Access, join the copy to the master table.
  • Update the Access master table using the copy.

But that's messy and not ideal. It would be better if I could edit the master Access table right in ArcGIS Pro.
