If I was in your situation, I would simply add a histogram item to the dashboard. I did this with a cemetery at my last job. The histogram showed how many available and unavailable plots there were per lettered section, without the need for a live frequency table. I'm glad you posted your means to an end, but I think there is a different means you should consider for that end.
