Hi, all,
This is remarkably daft. I have been using Pro for a little while now, have done a number of map projects with it, and have been wrapping labels in my legends w/no problem. Now, all of a sudden, I can't get it to work. I just updated my software yesterday and I wonder if there's any chance there's a bug??
I've done everything as described everywhere I can find it: I've selected the whole element of the legend and gone to properties. I've gone to the Legend Arrangement Options tab, and under "Word wrapping," I've checked the box for labels and descriptions and entered the desired width. I've played around with changing the width a bunch of times. I've stretched the legend in height, and that does nothing. Of course, if I stretch it wide enough the whole label shows, but I don't want the legend that wide. Most of the legend items have short titles, but there's one that's longer, so I want it to wrap and maintain an overall narrower legend.
?????
I'm sure I'm doing something utterly daft, but I can't figure it out.
Thank you!!
Hi Ava,
I played around with my test map and took the underscore out of my map feature class name and replaced it with a space like this: Clip_OutFeatureClass Firefly_Grid_Lines_v2_GridLand
Then the 2" word wrap worked. With the underscore between Class and Firefly, it would not word wrap and I had to use a 4" label width.
Maybe this will help you?
Hi all,
I don't know if you have already found any solution to this problem. I haven't. Layer names won't wrap in my legend, no matter what I've tried. So is this a bug for everyone or it's just my ArcGIS Pro taking its own initiatives? I am not using any underscores to my layer names, it's just plain words with spaces between them.
By the way, labels and descriptions wrappings have no issues. It's just the layer names that won't wrap.
Any help would be appreciated.
All the best,
George
Hi GeoDeli,
Would you please post a snip picture of your issue?
Hard to tell what the matter may be without seeing what you have.
Thanks!
