I'm using ArcMap 10.7. I'd like to be able to print maps sideways on our plotter in order to conserve paper. (For example, I'd like to print an 18"x24" map sideways on 24" wide roll paper, therefore using 18" rather than 24" of paper.)
I haven't been able to figure out how to do this, either directly from ArcMap, or from a PDF generated by exporting from ArcMap. Anyone have suggestions?#

would suggest it can be done with the hardware by changing the output orientation.
Also possible, maybe the output device can't print full-width and it is auto-changing the orientation.
I have not tried rotating at the plotter, but that is a good suggestion and I will check it out. The plotter is an Epson P8000 44" plotter.
So ArcGIS Desktop does not offer the option to rotate output?
From Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobat Pro, it can be done by 1) rotating image on screen, 2) creating a custom paper type in the plotter properties, e.g., 17x11, and 3) setting orientation in the Adobe Print dialog box to portrait. This gives the desired result.
Still testing how to rotate output from ArcGIS.
