Hi, Being new to this I would like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction, I work for a utilities company who is now getting involved in water supply, the water section is asking about .shp files to submit to the uk water authority, can someone point out the best way for me to learn how to do this please.

The Water Industry (Suppliers’ Information) Direction 2019
ANNEX A - GIS SPECIFICATION – updated 24thMay 2019 AT (v.1)

This is the paperwork sent to me, I would like to be the one that learns how to use this so there's a good chance the company will purchase the software if I can show some knowledge regarding its use.

Many thanks for any help you can give.

Mark

@Mark65 Thanks for posting to the Esri Community.

A good place to get an overview of GIS for Water is:

Water Utilities

ArcGIS Pro is a a full-featured professional desktop GIS application that has specific capabilities to manage and analyze water utility networks. ArcGIS Pro also has tools to extract, transform spatial data to various formats including shapefile (.shp).

You may also reach out to Esri UK for software purchase, license enquires.
