Hi - I need to extract a "cross section" (elevation profile) along a circle around a volcano. In ArcGIS Desktop 3D analyst (10.8) there was an "interpolate 3D line" tool that allowed you to draw a line on a DEM and then it would generate a graph along that line that you could export to Excel. Does anyone have any idea how I could do this in ArcGIS Pro?
Thanks Dan. So, my Org does not have a 3DA license for ArcGIS Pro. Is there a workaround?
Or is there a nice friendly person out there with whom I could share data with to help me get my profile line?
I was able to try this tool (Interpolate Shape) in ArcGISDesktop 10.8 (assume it's the same), and it makes a new feature class - shouldn't the Z values be in the new Attribute table for each vertex of the circle? I tried both with and without "vertexes" checked. Same result. Certainly doing something wrong.
First step is to set your DEM as the elevation source for your map: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/mapping/layer-properties/elevation-surfaces.htm
