I'm working with a CA statewide parcel layer and I noticed there are overlapping parcel features stacked on top of each other; I'm assuming each stacked feature represents an individual lot for tax purposes. I don't need all of the duplicates for the project I'm working on and would like to use the Delete Identical tool to remove the duplicates. However, there are varying unique use code descriptions for most of the stacked duplicates. I was wondering how Delete identical chooses which shapes to delete so I can be sure the features with target use code descriptions are not deleted. Does anyone have a suggestion for a better workflow or more in depth information on how this tool works? I've already checked the tool reference page. Thanks!
