How can I put a coordinate grid on a map layout in the new ArcGIS Pro? Is this feature not implemented yet?
Correct, not implemented yet.
In the meantime, one way to get around that limitation is to create data frame grids/graticules in ArcMap, convert them to graphics and import the mxd/layout. Of course, that means they will be static graphics.
Alternatively, you should also be able to use grid and graticule layers, which are features layers and so should work just like any other feature layer.
Thanks!
Will this likely be in the July release?
Sorry, Paul. No it won't be in the 1.1 release due out in July.
David -
Any thoughts on when grids will be added to ArcGIS Pro layouts?
- Paul
sorry...then generally don't announce when...but what is new and most people miss this in the online help files
What's new in ArcGIS Pro 1.1—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS for Desktop
I can't really say. There are a lot of factors involved in planning each release and so much can change that there's no way we can get very specific about future releases. It's not that we're trying to hide anything, it's just that we don't have the information until we get into the release and even then some things can slip (and sometimes other things get added as priorities shift) if they turn out to be more involved than we had planned for or something else comes up.
David Barnes - is there support for MGRS / USNG coordinate systems within the new grid capabilities in 1.4? If not, do we know if this is in the pipeline?
UTM or USNG is used by SAR Teams in the United States and USNG is a FEMA standard.
Paul,
Be aware that David Barnes has retired from Esri as of last week, so you may not get a response on that tag .
AS you've discovered 1.4 has Graticules, grids are on the docket for future release. I'll ping the layout team about your specific requirement and see what they say.

Jeremy W.
