I currently have a layer in ArcMap that has an inventory of sidewalks in an area. The layer is connected to an Access Database. When we update the Access Database, the layer in ArcMap updates as well. I have to continuously make edits to this layer and it would be much better to do in pro.

I want to move the layer into ArcPro for future updates, but I am not sure how to. I can easily export the layer and add it to a new ArcPro project, but it isn't connected to the exisiting Access Database. Any tips?

You're correct.  I'm pretty sure the OLE DB functionality was added in ArcGIS Pro 2.6: https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/2.6/help/data/databases/work-with-ole-db-connections.htm

I can't be entirely sure but you might try creating the connection from ArcGIS Pro. See https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/databases/work-with-ole-db-connections.htm

Then if you have symbology from ArcMap to maintain in Pro, https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/tool-reference/data-management/apply-symbology-from-layer.h... takes .lyr as input.

Would that work for you?

Using ArgGIS Pro 2.7.0 I was able to add my MS Access Database using an OLE database connection in Catalog.  I was not able to do this with previous versions (not sure which version added the functionality and we skipped versions).

Thank you!

So I think I got the OLE db connection working. Now the access database is connected to arcpro.

Ideally, I would like to share the ArcGis pro project as a web map to be shared publicly. Likewise, I would like to use the access database to consistently update this online web map. If the access database is connected to the arcgis pro project, will the access database update the shared web map as well?

I believe that the only way to have dynamically updated data is to provide a rest service.

Otherwise you need to republish the project to refresh the data.

I have a layer in ArcGIS Pro that has an inventory of all bus stops in our transit system, which is connected to an Access Database. We regularly have to update the Access Database based on Service Changes, etc. A couple questions

1. How do you get the layer to update when you update the Access Database? Is this done automatically?

2. We have hyperlinks in the MS Access Database to photos, but when I added these to ArcMap, the attribute table doesn't read the hyperlink correctly, and the fields just populate with "Blob."
