Hello,

I have a simple question. Someone emailed me a lyrx file of a zoning map I needed, but when I open it in Pro it says "Click to Repair Layer Data Source." I asked her to resend with the geodatabase in a folder with the lyrx zipped up, but she said that's not the workflow for Pro and she can't figure out what she needs to do.

1. What did she do wrong

2. How does she fix it

I am largely an ArcMap user slowly easing into Pro so I would love some guidance!

Thank you 🙂

Of course you can repair the layer(s) if the corresponding data source (GDB, Shapefiles, etc.) is provided to you.

Alternatively, you could ask her to create and share map package or layer package.

You could then extract the package.

Thank you! I didn't understand the difference between layer file and layer package is what I see now.
