I am trying to load a CAD dwg file to ArcGIS Pro 3.4.  The dwg coordinate system is defined.

When I use add data I get a Failed to add data warning.

When I view the properties of the dwg in the Catalog Pane it shows (Cannot connect to database) message.

However this is only in ArcGIS Pro.  I can read properties and assign the coordinate in Arc Catalog and I can add the dwg file to Arc Map with no issues.  I also can use the CAD to Geodatabase tool to convert the file data to a geodatabase.

But I can't add the dwg file or use CAD to Geodatabase tool in ArcGIS Pro.

Thank You

J

What version is the dwg file? Ensure it's within the supported version range.

If everything fails you can open the dwg in Arcmap, convert to a feature class in a gdb and then open that gdb in Pro.

Ensure your DWG file version is compatible with ArcGIS Pro 3.4, as it may not support newer DWG formats. Try converting the DWG file using AutoCAD 2024, which you can download here. Also, verify the coordinate system settings and run the AUDIT command in AutoCAD to fix any file issues. If the problem persists, convert the DWG to a geodatabase using ArcMap and then import it into
