I am doing research on the ecology of elephants and one thing I am trying to calculate is the average time between revisits into a certain pixel. I have overlayed a grid over my area of interest, and have a table containing each of my GPS points, and each of their associated dates, times and pixel they are located in (many pixels have several GPS points).
I am looking for a way of calculating the average time between revisits into each pixel - is there any easy way of doing this or a tool for it? The only thing I have been able to come up with so far is to calculate the difference between consecutive date points for each pixel and then average these out per pixel, but as I have over 20 000 pixels across my area of interest this will take a very long time and I'm guessing is also not the best way of moving forward.
