Hello!
I am trying to create a polygon from a single polyline using the Autocomplete feature, but it continuously fails. Here are the steps I've followed:
1. Created a new polygon shapefile
2. Selected the new shapefile in the contents pane
3. Selected "Create" and then "Autocomplete" for the new polygon shapefile
4. Selected the existing polyline shapefile and "Replace Sketch", and then "Finish"
5. The Autocomplete process take a few seconds to run, but then fails.
I have tried this many times and it always fails. I have made sure that the polyline feature is a closed object, and I have made sure that the polyline object is contained within the drawing window.
I am running ArcGIS Pro v3.0.3 on a Windows 11 machine.
Any help on how to get this to work would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Doug
Doug, auto-complete does not behave the best with shapefiles. Can you make this feature as a feature class in a file geodatabase and try from there? Also, can you confirm that auto-complete can work with a small subset just for testing purposes?
Hi there,
I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm running into a similar issue: I'm trying to create a polygon that is adjacent to TWO separate and existing polygons. I've turned on Snapping and when I trace the new polygon, everything seems to work well until I click on "Finish" when I get a "Autocomplete failed" alert.
What am I missing? What is the secret?
I'm running ArcGIS Pro 3.2.3 on PC.
Thanks!
Tim
