My colleague draw some stuff on AutoCAD and I'm attempting to convert it to use it in GIS format.
When I import the file, it shows up in the middle of the ocean, but it should be in the Montreal region.
Usually, we work with projection EPSG 32188, so I told him to try that, but still it doesn't work.
Here you can see that in AutoCAD, the model is placed with the right coordinates (bottom center) and it has the correct coordinate system (bottom right):
When I import the .dwg file in ArcGIS Pro, this is where it should appear (note the similar coordinates on the bottom, the polygon layer is a different source):
but it appears nowhere (and pivoted at 90 degrees and note the crazy coordinates):
When I go in to the catalog tab on the left, right click on the dwg file and go to properties:
the thumbnail orientation is ok and then (sorry it's in french) under spatial reference I have projected coordinate system (32188) AND geographical coordinate system (4269). Could this be the problem? How to change the geographic coordinate system to 4326 ?!
Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks.
I just tried adding a map with the ArcGIS for AutoCAD plugin and realised that the model was drawn completely way off (and rotated the wrong way).
Does anyone know how to correct this?!
Thank you!
