Hello,

I'm trying to create different attribute rules for standalone tables in the first place. Therefore, I need to define rules that verify if a field is filled correctly.

For example: If field A is filled, field B must be filled too.

The first issue I'm facing is the fact that such a constraint rule is working fine, but after the constraint rule pops up, all fields are reset. As far as I know, there is no way to prevent the resetting of fields?

Due to this circumstance, my idea is to use validation rules. So, after the fields of a row within the standalone table are filled, the validation rule checks for missing fields/inputs. But here, the next problem occurs: I can't add an error layer for the standalone table (greyed out). I think it's only available for feature classes.

Do I miss something, or is there no way to solve my task using attribute rules regarding this topic?

I hope someone can help me,

best reagards

If you are trying to make your edits directly in the attribute table, after the error message pops up it will remove all the data you've entered for the entire record. However, if you edit the table using the "Attributes" pane (Edit --> Selection --> Attributes) and you attempt to add a record that breaks your attribute rule, it will give you an opportunity to fix the error without removing other field data values. Hope this helps.
