Hi everyone,

I try to associate an image, differente for each point, belonging to one layer.

I have a layer composed of 5 points and I would like to associate an image for each point. I already arrived to associate an image for the layer but it's the same for each point so it's not what I want. I did this in the pop-up menu.

So, do you know how I can solve my problem ?

Thanks,

Eva

Are you referring to Enable Attachments—Data Management toolbox | ArcGIS Desktop ?

So that you could attach a different image to each separate point, and then display those in a popup?

Thanks for your answer ! But when I try to activate Attachments for my layer it doesn't work. The error is about my layer which doesn't accept attached files.

My layer is a shapefile so it's not supported regarding to Error 001177.

How can I create a feature class with my shapefile ?

Do I have to store this data in the database or I can store this data in an other file ?

Really thanks for your help,

Eva

You could use a tool like Feature Class to Feature Class—Help | ArcGIS Desktop with the shapefile as the input and the destination being a file geodatabase. Then try the attachment workflow.

Yes, thanks.

Now I arrive to have file geodatabase, and the attachement file is working.

But I don't understand how to add attached file...

I try to add attached file now but It don't work !

I work on this link : Ajouter des pièces jointes—Boîte à outils Gestion des données | ArcGIS Desktop

I will try again and try to understand ! 😃

It looks like that is using the Add Attachments geoprocessing tool.  To start, you might just try to follow the steps to manually add attachments to your points through editing.  Explained here: Edit file attachments—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Really thanks, now with a table I have added one image for each point. I also have added a PDF file. I have verified that my PDF is an attached file with your link.

But when I select a point, my image appear but my PDF is not visible.

Do you know why I have this issue ?

Thanks Kory for your useful help ! 😃

I'm assuming this is in the popup, correct?

How are you configuring your popup?  Please read the section on Attachments here: Pop-ups—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop And here Configure pop-ups—ArcGIS Pro | ArcGIS Desktop

Attachments

For layers with enabled attachments you can display the list of attachments within the pop-up. When a feature has attachments and you have chosen to show the list, you will see a set of hyperlinks that launch the attachment in the default file handler. Image attachments display by default. Features without attachments display a message that there are no attachments.

Okay, but I have an another problem. I try to import a .lyrx to have the same point than an another layer. But when I did this, I lost my attached files. I delete all the think related to attached file (geodatabase file, attached table) and did it again. But when, I select a point, I don't see my image and when I look at the properties of the layer, its indicates that my layer don't have attached files. However, when I activate the attached files and add attached files, I didn't have error message.

Do you know where my problem come from ?

really thanks for your help,

Eva
