I'm not having success with the ArcGIS World geocoding service. Here is the error:
Error: -2147467259 - Failed to execute (GeocodeAddresses).
Does anyone know of address locator for Pennsylvania? thx s
Solved! Go to Solution.
ESRI said I’m using a public account under the organizational account. Only the organizational can batch geocoding. Everyone can use the ArcGIS world geocoding service with a single query. My solution was to build a locator using the create locator tool. I used the centerline data from the county of Allegheny ( Pittsburgh).
Are you trying to genocide a table of addresses in PA?
Can you share a small sample of the data you are trying to geocode?
hi Michael. Thank you for responding so quickly. This effing me up because I have ADD and can't let it go until I resolve this. Here is jpg snip, it's all text format if use multiple fields:
street, city, zip2, country
I've also made a calculated field called address. I've done it ways and it fails.
At first I saw a permissions issue, but my professor let me update my permissions. After the change to the permissions, then the geocode table error. Some other community members said it may be a utility issue (organizational configuration) so I have support ticket to find out about that.
Here is a screenshot of what the parameters looked like for an Excel table I created where I reformatted some of your data. I added the Street field to a field I called Address 1, City to a City field, State to a State field and Zip to a Zip Code field.
I had 3 addresses from my area in southeast PA plus 2 records from your data in Pittsburgh. I was able to successfully geocode all the addresses with the ArcGIS World Geocode Service in ArcMap.
Is your output feature class or shape file hosted?
I was just saving the output to a shapefile, but I was normally save it to a file gdb on a network drive (Not hosted).
I tried geocoding the same simple data excel file in Pro, but it threw errors there (Ole reliable ArcMap).

Can you try to save the results to a local drive just to see if that will remove database permissions as a variable here?
Yes. It’s local. I like way you think—eliminating variables. I’ll share my screen with an ESRI tech today at 2:30est. I’m aware of setting up an editor tracking but it’s tracking here. This feature is for people in the field (using collector) to track who, when and where the data is changed. This is just an old dataset from an outdated book is not formatted like the current open streets for center lines, otherwise I would have created an address locator. Also centerlines are really inaccurate at times. A lot of what we are assigned is using ArcMap which nobody is using.
Not tracking here.
