ArcGIS Pro not reading date field from Excel table?

I have added an Excel table into Pro, with a series of date fields. In Excel they are formatted as dates to allow for Pro to read it as such. However once added to Pro it reads it as text, any pointers here?

I have tried reformatting to yyyymmdd and yyyy/mm/dd with no luck.

If the excel file has its columns formatted and there are no blank cells in a column, try

Excel To Table (Conversion)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

and see if the date information is retained properly

Use date fields—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

are the data in the same format as your computer's regional settings for dates?

I don't necessarily have an answer, but do either of these resources help?

Work with Microsoft Excel files in ArcGIS Pro  Specifically, take a look at the Limitations section, "...the field type specified in Excel is not used in determining the field type exposed in ArcGIS."

Just a guess, but you could create a new field, set the format to date, then copy/paste the old field into the new field, but paste special (without formatting) so that the new field's formatting is honoured.

If that doesn't work, try using an Excel formula that outputs a date.

You could also attach a sample of the data to this forum post so that others can give it a shot.

I am attaching a sample data, hoping that someone can help me to troubleshoot.

In excel, both date1 and date2 contain either Date value or General value (blank). When added to ArcGIS Pro, date1 becomes Text field while date2 becomes Date field. What is the problem with date1 column?

Thank you.
