I'm trying to find out if and to what degree ArcGIS Pro 3.5 is compatible with ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1.  I want to know what will work and what won't work.  Thanks for any help.

Release notes for ArcGIS Pro 3.5—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

Under Companion ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise versions

it states

Although earlier and later versions of ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise work together for most functionality, pairing companion versions is recommended. When that isn't possible, staying within a range of two companion versions is recommended.

So you would have to check the specific functionality you are interested in since there is no master list posted

I wouldn't upgrade your Pro version. Noone really knows what wouldn't work until it's done. Especially with publishing/over-writing services and the numerous tools you may use in your workflows.

If you decide to try, you can upgrade Pro and then use a new aprx to thoroughly test with. Do not save any existing aprx's until you are completely satisfied there are no issues that will negatively affect your workflow. If issues are found after the upgrade, you can uninstall Pro and re-install the previous version you were using.

Hello @NathanHeickLACSD, in addition to what has been mentioned already, I recommend having a look at this post from Esri Australia: Compatibility Between ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise.

This paragraph might be of interest:

"This could be particularly an issue with major releases. For instance, when you publish a print service from ArcGIS Pro 3.0, your Enterprise server must be 11.0 or above. If we attempt to publish print templates created in ArcGIS Pro 3.0 to older versions of ArcGIS Enterprise (e.g. 10.9.1), ArcGIS Server service runtime can’t recognize the layout templates created from ArcGIS Pro 3.0"

Actually, we always try to stick to the equivalent version. In this case, ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 with ArcGIS Pro 2.9.x.

Thank you.  That is very good information.  Right now, we are at ArcGIS Pro 2.9.14 and ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1, but we're getting a lot of pressure from some users to upgrade.  I need facts like this that demonstrate incompatibilities.

Just to add the following doc is worth keeping in mind when comparing ArcGIS Pro and Enterprise functionality.

The most common example is print services. ArcGIS Pro 3.0 added new parameters to the Export Web Map tool which ArcGIS Enterprise versions at 10.9.1 and below are not able to handle.

Hope that helps!
