ArcGIS Pro 2.9: How to plot xy by clicking on the map?
I couldn’t figure out if there is a tool by which one can plot xy by clicking on the map
I’m not digitizing here. All what I wanted is just to click on the map to plot the xy coordinate. Is this still doable with the capacity of Pro?
A few more I can think of:
- Create a temporary feature class, create an arcade expression to label XY (actually labels it, also works in layouts)
- Use the coordinate conversion tool (lists coordinates for a bunch of points you can create, export if you need)

You can add a point map note layer from the insert tab, then click on the edit tab and open the create features pane. From there you can select the Point Notes template, right click on the map and chose Absolute X,Y,Z to add your coordinates or add a Point Note anywhere on your map, select the point (using the Edit Vertices or Move tool), right click the map note and choose Move To to insert your desired x, y coordinates.

Not sure why there is no more decent tool such that one can click on the map and get the xy plotted as per the screenshot below
