Hello all,

I am working in ArcGISpro using the apportion polygon tool to split a population across block groups. However, for some of my populations, I have noticed that the sum of the produced "apportioned" populations does not equal (actually far exceeds) the population of the apportionment.

In other words, if I am trying to apportion a population of 400 people across block groups. The apportionment will run correctly and give results of 100, 250, 10, 90 which adds to more than the original 400. (These are just example numbers the answers aren't really that pretty and round).

I am really stuck and don't have another tool to use to get around the issue. Any ideas for solutions and work arounds would be amazing!!! Please help.

Hello, do you think you could provide more information about your data and what you are trying to apportion the populations by? Also a screenshot of the parameters you are using to run the Apportion Polygon tool. It would help us better understand what could be the issue here and maybe come up with a potential workaround.

Also, it might be helpful if you log this issue with technical support (https://support.esri.com/en-us/contact) and share the data you are using with the tool.
