Sometimes a Layout requires multiple Legends in order to make everything fit and behave.
Please provide a way to copy the Legend's settings and apply them to another Legend.
Saving Styles is an option but I am looking for a way to copy all those small tweaks you have to make to bypass the !smarts in the current legend implementation.
Some things don't appear to translate across when using Styles.
In addition - I don't want to end up with thousands of Legend Styles.
If you copy and paste the legend element in the layout to duplicate it and then configure the copy to be linked to another map frame or with different items in it, does that do what you need? We have legends configured in a specific way and that's typically how I go about getting multiple legends in a layout. It's also handy to duplicate a legend like that before converting to graphics so you still have the original legend element with all its configuration hanging around.
Thanks @Melissa_B, I do use copies of legends a lot (when the copy process doesn't make Pro crash 🤣)
The Idea is centred around being able to copy a legend config to another existing legend.
Yeah, the copy crashes are making copies like that a lot more of a risk for sure! It would be a great tool to be able to copy the configuration of any layout element and apply the configuration to a layout element of the same type - kind of the like the "Apply Symbology from Layer" tool only with layout elements. It would make legends and scale bars a lot faster when you need multiple in a map and want to stick with a theme.
