ESRI implemented a custom URL on the Android and iOS versions of Collector and ArcGIS apps but these features were not implemented on the other products like ArcMap, Server, etc. Please make it consistent specially on the desktop product.
In ArcGIS Pro, you can sign in using the ArcGIS Online organization URL.
