The workarounds suggested in this thread are all well-intentioned, but miss the point: editing the field(s) of a joined table is a common and very useful technique - one that should NOT require a workaround! QGIS supports this feature... just sayin'
@TimLangner Yes, I agree. It would be great if we could edit the fields of a joined feature class or table, all within the joined attribute table.
