Currently the tool is extremely hard to use (or even useless) in model builder workflows escpecially when you need to control the execution flow of processes after this tool has run. Currently the output variable (Output Folder) can not be used as a precondition for processess after this tool because it is always evaluated as false. I wrote a post about this on Geonet without any feedback from ESRI staff about it unfortunately (see here https://geonet.esri.com/thread/172794).
