It would be nice to have a more obvious way of telling if you were working in Data View or Layout View.  When you switch between to the 2 views often it is difficult to keep track of which view you are in when there are just the 2 small buttons on the bottom left corner.  This can create problems if you use the wrong pan or zoom tools for the current view if you are editing or producing annotation or other data that is scale-sensitive.

Perhaps adding larger buttons somewhere on the Standard Toolbar or adding a shaded background to the TOC while in Layout View and leaving the TOC background white while in Data View?

I would also like to see "view specific" toolbars. The Layout toolbar open automatically when you switch to layout view. It would be nice to have it turn off when you switch back to layout view. I also have a custom toolbar that I have with common tasks that I only use in layout view (align, distribute, group) that I would like to have that ability.
