Auto Apply Not Working with Text

When editing a selected feature, and then trying in a text field from the attribute window, ArcGIS Pro does not keep the text if the feature is unselected while the carriage is active.  This is causing loss of work if the user does not explicitly press "enter" after typing.  Is the "Auto Apply" feature not working for text or is this a bug?

@EvanMyers1 In a galaxy far, far away it was described as 'As Designed' but yes, the inconsistency in UX across Pro is confusing sometimes.
You have to either Enter or Tab away to get a change 'locked in' - this is most often with text fields in layout, attributes, or similar.
I still get tripped up editing a title in a layout and pressing enter after editing attributes in the Attributes Pane - instead of locking it in, it will add a newline 😞

The Auto Apply operations are usually for style or object operations such as changing colours, fonts, etc.

I do prefer the manual action of locking in a change/edit of attributes in the Attributes Pane, but have clicked out of the window many times when I want to check something else quickly.

@EvanMyers1 A couple questions for you to make sure I understand the behavior:

1. How are you making your 'feature unselected'? By clicking the Clear Selection button on the Edit ribbon tab or clicking anywhere on the map?

2. Do you see any difference in the behavior if the Attribute pane is floated vs docked?

1.  It happens when I click another feature.  I dont press Enter or Escape before clicking something else.

2.  It only happens when the window is floating!  Very strange.

It doesnt seem to happen to fields with a domain dropdown picklist.  It saves my choice.

@EvanMyers1 Thanks for testing. Can you please reach out to Technical Support to have this investigated as a potential bug?

Since you initially logged this as an Idea, I will go ahead and close it. See ArcGIS Ideas Submission Guidelines and Statuses topic for more information, particularly the '2. No bugs please.' section.
