When you try to export a TIFF, ArcGIS exports a TIF (whit only one F)
As far as I'm aware, the two extensions are synonymous, just like JPG and JPEG. Any software capable of reading TIFF should also recognize TIF.
I think you can also manually add a second F at the time of saving if that's your preference, yes?
