Has anyone experienced issues using the Extend tool where the line you're trying to extend, extends but still comes up short of the line your trying to extend too?  A client recently showed me a line that they traversed, but was short of where it needed to finish.  So, they use the extend tool but when they go to create the SEED, no seed would get created.  Upon zooming in further, they would notice that the line they extended was still short.  This happens occasionally, but not all the time. They also mentioned that sometimes the line they're trying to extend will actually extend beyond the line.

Thanks,

Robert.

Pro ver. 3.3.0

Fabric ver. 5

Geodatabase is Enterprise 11.3

In the screen shots above there was an initial gap of around 10 ft, after using the extend tool the line was extended but still left a gap of less than 2 ft.

My client has confirmed that since I upgraded them from 3.3 to 3.4.2, they have not had any issues with the extend tool coming up short.

Robert,

If I am not mistaken we had similar issues when we were in 3.3. I believe there was a bug.

Hi @RobertChaney Did the Esri Parcel Development team respond to the issue or did @-_Ashley-B-Potter_-  reply help you decide to see if the version upgrade was a solution to the issue?

John,

ESRI has not reached out to me, and I haven't been able to confirm whether an upgrade will solve the issue.

I hoping an upgrade of the Pro software will be the solution, I just haven't had time to schedule it.  I will send out a reply to this thread is that is in fact the solution that fixes the issue.
