Am sorry if this question has already been posted on the forum. I'm hoping for a bit of guidance.

I am wanting to automate some of my work using Python scripts.

I am wanting to take an annexation/ real property legal description like this, and turn it into a Traverse file. I need to pull out the Metes and Bounds and somehow turn them in to a traverse file:

BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of said Section 8, thence on the west section line of said Section 8, North oo• 13' 45" East, 2637.74 feet, to the West One Quarter corner of said Section 8;
Thence North 00° 12' 56" East, 1319.91 feet, to the North One Sixteenth corner;
Thence leaving said west section line, South 89° SO' 09" East, 3942.20 feet, to the Northeast One Sixteenth corner;
Thence South oo• 13' 17" West, 1319.92 feet, to the Center-East One Sixteenth corner;
Thence South 00° 12' 23" West, 2637.84 feet, to the East One Sixteenth corner;
Thence on the south section line of said Section 8, North 89° 50' 50" West, 1315.99 feet, to the South One Quarter corner of said Section 8;
Thence North 89° 49' 40" West, 2627.13 feet to the POINT OF BEGiNNING.

Any and all information greatly appreciated. Links, hands on experience, anecdotes, anything.

Thank you!

@T_R

The parcel fabric team is working (R&D) on importing traverse courses from deeds.
