Hi All,
We have a question regarding AGOL viewer roles:
We would like to have 1000 internal staff accessing an AGOL web app from our AGOL ESRI org account.
The app is for INTERNAL access only, not for public. Our AGOL org account have 50 users/licenses.
The web app is view only and there's not edit feature.
We have our own internal authentication and workgroup systems and we would like to use them for accessing the web app.
can we integrate our own sign on and workgroup systems WITHOUT having all 1000 staff signing up their own ESRI accounts? We also do not want to integrate the single sign feature with AGOL.
what’s the best approach? and is this possible?
thanks so much!!!

Your best option is going to be to configure Enterprise logins and use the option to use an existing enterprise group to provide quick access. https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/create-groups.htm#ESRI_CHOICE_9F59669F23394CD5A9D...
If this is not an option, then every user will need to be invited/have an account created and then added to a group. You can add users to groups during invitation process to streamline the workflow.
Thanks Kelly, in this case, do we need to pay for each user for a AGOL Viewer role subscription? or they can just use the free ESRI account?
If the data is going to be shared privately (using groups or the organization) then the viewer accounts need to be purchased. If the data and apps are shared publicly, then no accounts are needed.
