I only want to enable editing attributes within my arcgis online web application.  When I select this option the edit widget says there is no available template to use.  If I enable all edits I can update the attributes.  I do not want to give anyone the ability to add or delete any features, only update one attribute.

Hi Bob,

In the Edit widget settings, you can uncheck Toolbar Visible to remove the editing icons at the bottom.  You can also decide which fields can be edited in the service by turning on Custom Settings for Editable layers settings.

Turn off the ability to add or delete, then use the pencil icon under Fields to turn on or off editable fields.

Let me know if this helps!

Best of luck,

Marisa

Hi Marisa,

I am also setting up a web app where I only need to edit attribute fields (no adding, deleting, or updating geometry), but the window that says "Your account does not have permission to create or modify data. Or this web map does not contain any editable layers" is confusing my users. Is there a way to hide it? Let me know your thoughts!
