I'm unable to "update data" on any of my feature layers. This has changed only in the last day or two. Normally if I need to add features to my layers I can hit the "Update Data" button on the summary page for the layer and then upload a zipped shapefile containing my new features. The menu has changed some and now I'm presented with 4 options. Selecting the "Add Features" option and then the Next button takes me to a blank window. No place to upload a zip file or even any text on the menu. Just a "Back", "Next", and "Cancel" buttons along with the normal Close Window X on the top right. Next button doesn't do anything. What's broken?
Thanks
Reuben.
Hi @reubjames,
You could automate this with a python script instead. See the following document.
Jake, that's certainly on our to-do list, maybe it just got pushed to the top.
I'm having the same issue. I don't know when it started for our org but it was recent because a user emailed me about this issue yesterday and they append the layer in question at least weekly if not more. I logged in with my admin account and reproduced the issue. Same as described and shown in screen shots above by Reuben. This used to work. We don't have capacity to automate with python right now, we just need AGOL to function the way it did. Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated!!!
Hi there @reubjames and @ChristinaCroll, this is not the expected behavior for the new update data/append experience. Please reach out to support and open up a ticket so we can address this! Thanks
Will do, thanks!!
We have identified the issue and are working on a fix! Thanks for reporting this
Awesome, thank you!!!
Thanks!
I am now able to get past the upload portion of the "Update Data" "Add Features" however that tool eventually gets to prompt asking to match fields. It gives an error "To Append data, provide one or more matching fields". This is not the same behavior as before the AGOL "upgrade".
This particular data has no fields to match, I just want to be able to append new features with blank data. I was able to do this previously.
Previously I could simply upload a zipped shapefile containing polygons with no attribute data (these are exported from our CAD systems) and append them as new features with blank attribute data. Then I update the attribute data in ArcGIS. I expect this is how it should work, but it won't get past the screen asking for matching fields. See screenshot.
