Publishing a Web Application with Editable Layers

Hello,

I am trying to publish a web application of a web map with editable layers to arcgis online. I have my web map with editable layers and from the arcgis online map viewer I am using the Share button> with Members of a Group> Make a web application. Then I choose the Edit template and Publish. But when I view my map application it says I have no editable layers. Nothing displays in the legend. Can someone help with this?

The Edit template can only edit layers based on feature services, not layers stored in the web map, such as map notes layers or shapefiles.
