October Update: Unable to save edits to some webmaps

Hello -

Is anyone experiencing issues saving edits to web map viewer in ArcGIS Online since the update on Wednesday? I am encountering this with several maps after trying to add layers, change symbology or field information, I am unable to save - the little green bar just stays at 100% and never changes.

I am also not able to save it as another map. The option is available, but nothing happens when I click on Save As.

@StephanieW We think we have identified the issue - when we remove our nearmap imagery from a webmap we are able to save it and forms are showing up. We have been having issues with nearmap since the update last week and have a ticket open for that already. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi @LJackson29 are you seeing this with multiple web maps? Also if you reopen your web map after seeing this are the changes reflected despite the misleading indicator?

If you are able to create a support case we can take a closer look at the specific web maps to try and isolate why they are not saving https://support.esri.com/en-us/contact.

@StephanieW Thanks for following up. Yes, I am still having this issue with at least 2 maps. When I try to save my edits, the little green bar never progresses, and if I close out and come back in the edits are not there. I am the owner of the maps, and have had 2 co-workers who are admins also try to edit the maps and the same thing occurs. I am able to edit at least a couple other maps successfully, and was able to create a new map. In one of the maps I am having issues with, I removed each layer one at a time and tried to save to see if a specific layer was causing problems, but had the same experience each time I tried to save.

I am reluctant to open a ticket at the moment as I already have a ticket open for an unrelated issue.

@StephanieW I want to give you an update. As of this morning we are encountering this issue in multiple maps, but not all, and are also encountering an issue where forms are not showing up in web maps.

Hi @LJackson29 Thank you for letting me know, I am glad you are able to save your web maps now. We are working directly with Nearmap to have BUG-000180349: Authentication issues occur when attempting to access Nearmap US Vertical Imagery services resolved as soon as possible.
