Hello All,
I see that there have been some recent updates to the new make viewer. One of those being the labels associated with line work. The amount of labels per line has been greatly reduced (thankfully). The issue now appears that the labels do not move when you zoom in and out. In my case I am referring to road names . Roads tend to be long and have the label "sit" in one spot doesn't help the user know where they are at when zooming around in a map. I have only noticed it so far in the AGOL webmaps I have not tried the new line work labeling in a webmap application yet. I'm I missing something?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I just want to add my support for this enhancement and hope that it is released soon. Labeling above or below a long is a basic functionality that I am always surprised has not yet been added to the new map viewer.
Once added, It will greatly increase map legibility. Context for the example attached: attempting to create a map that shows users where benches are along a trail network. My end goal is to have a web map set up that users can print their own park maps, this is currently not an option due to the lack of label options.
This is planned for the upcoming release of Online.
I also support the addition of label options in ArcGIS Enterprise. Until their release, I am using the following workaround for labeling line features:
Hope this helps!
amazing news! do we have a date for that release?
thanks!
Yup! We are aiming for end of June which can be subject to change but is the current plan.
Thank you Russ! I'll keep an eye out for the release date 🎉
This has been released and is out on ArcGIS Online now.
Is it also released for ArcGis Enterprise? If so, which version? If not, when will it be released?
This will be part of the 11.4 release
