I'm hoping someone has gone through this process before and might be able to help me. I am part of an ArcGIS Online Organization that has recently undergone some staffing changes. The current admin is no longer part of my team and we have run into issues trying to get the organization transferred over. There is a second person that is listed as an Admin, but they actually never activated their organizational account. I have logged into My Esri before and have advanced permissions. Recently, I have been unable to log in as I somehow no longer have My Esri permissions as part of my organization. I created this public account specifically so that I could check out the community posts.
I have spent time talking with folks at the My Esri help desk and all I've been told is that I am an admin in My Esri and that I should be able to transfer the organization. I've tried to get this transfer processed, but do not have the login information for the previous admin.
Has anyone been in a similar situation before? What did you do to work around this?

I haven't been in your situation but a couple of questions for you. Do you know what type of login is being used? Are they ArcGIS Online accounts? SAML SSO accounts?
If it's SSO managed by your org, could you get your IT department to access the login and make the changes? If it's an ArcGIS Online account, then could you ask Esri Support to update the email address for that account and do a password reset?
No idea if either of those will work - hopefully Esri Support can get you back online.
The quickest route back in is usually via the second admin account. If that person still has access to their email, it’s worth asking them to try signing in or recovering their account using the ArcGIS Online sign-in page. If they can activate it, they should be able to promote you (or others) to admin straight away.
If that’s not possible, the next step is to work with your local Esri Distributor to recover administrative access. This is something Support can handle, but it does require verification. When you contact them, explain that you need an ArcGIS Online admin reassignment due to staff changes, and provide as much detail as you can (org name, known usernames, your email domain, etc.).
