Inconsistent "view" count

I would like to keep track of the number of visitors to my web maps and web mapping applications. I've noticed that the "view" counts seem to reset at times, while at other times they appear to be a running total. What's going on with this? Do these counts get reset periodically and if so, how can I see total views?

The view count shouldn't be getting reset. It may get reset if you delete an item and recreate it.

Is it happening with specific types of items? What are you doing when you notice it gets reset? Can you provide a set of steps to reproduce the problem?

Thanks,

Mike

I haven't made any changes to the Web Map "Fairfax Trail Buddy" (user name = FairfaxCounty) since May 15. Yesterday the view count was 2,881; currrently it's 603.

When you look at a specific item, the count is correct.

Unfortunately, there is a known issue where the count is incorrect in searches, like this.

The count gets synced up whenever you update the item.

This is a challenging problem for us to fix actually, thus, we don't have a release date set yet. Sorry.

Thanks,

Mike
