I'm currently working with the free ArcGIS Online site, and I've added in a layer from a shapefile off my computer. I now want to make that layer searchable for people using my webapp. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it, and all Esri tutorials discuss clicking options that don't exist. Any ideas?
I suppose you are looking to make your data layer available for the public. You simply could enrich your data layers with metadata and use tags for better matching results when someone uses keyword to search.
I specified the field that should be searchable. It helped me with my webapp. Read the article on doc.arcgis.com >> Configure feature and table search for maps
