Group Layers from Map Viewer not supported in Web App Builder

Is it just me, or are Group Layers from the new Map Viewer not yet supported in Web App Builder?

I have a group layer (grouped feature layers in the Map Viewer) that I need to see as a group layer in the layer list in my web app. But it's ungrouped in the app. Have tried everything.

What's the point of functionality in Map Viewer that isn't supported by the Apps that are supposed to deploy the maps?

Judging by this table, perhaps not. Instant Apps looks to be the new web app builder for Map Viewer.

Edit: Experience builder is the new WAB. 👍

WAB is built off of the 3.x JSAPI like Map Viewer Classic. These apps will not support group layers. You can use experience builder or instant apps to support the group layer display in the TOC

So is experience builder still seen as the replacement to WAB?
